Operating beneath the surface of the Atlantic Ocean and along the coastal waters of the Teutogard Peninsula, the Flotilla serves as one of the Navy's primary assets for conducting submarine-based missions and maintaining control over strategic regions. The Flotilla consists of several types of advanced submarines, supported by highly trained crews. Its vessels are designed to operate for extended periods without detection, allowing them to monitor enemy movements, gather intelligence, and engage threats with little to no warning. The Flotilla is currently commanded by Flotilla Commander arvingamer99, who is assisted by SpecialLemonCake as the Flotilla Deputy Commander.

U-Boat Inventory

The 10th Undersea Assault-Flotilla operates three distinct classes of U-boats, access to which is restricted to Flotilla personnel holding a valid Marine Vessel Operator Certification, obtained through the course provided by the Department of Maritime Transportation.

To operate these vessels independently, personnel must hold the rank of Junior Boatswain or higher. Those below this rank may only operate a U-boat under the direct supervision of a qualified member holding the required rank.

Type IX U-Boat

The Type IX U-Boat is the longest-serving submarine class operated by the 10th Undersea Assault-Flotilla, having remained in service since the Flotilla's early years. Classified as a large attack submarine, the Type IX was originally developed for the Navy in 1936 and has continued to be operated up to the present day. Its current armament consists of a torpedo salvo, two 20mm anti-aircraft cannons, one 37mm anti-aircraft cannon, and a 128mm KwK 4 L/55 deck gun.

SeeHund Mini U-Boat

The SeeHund Mini U-Boat is a compact submarine operated by the 10th Undersea Assault-Flotilla. Although its exact introduction date remains unknown, it is believed to have entered service sometime after the Type IX U-Boat had already become an established part of the Flotilla's fleet. As its name suggests, the SeeHund is considerably smaller than conventional U-boats and is designed to accommodate a crew of just two personnel, a Helmsman and a Torpedoman.

Type XXI U-Boat

The Type XXI U-Boat is the latest addition to the 10th Undersea Assault-Flotilla's submarine fleet and represents its most advanced submarine currently in service. Classified as a large attack submarine, the Type XXI was introduced to provide the Flotilla with a faster, more modern, and technologically advanced alternative to its older Type IX U-Boats. Entering production in 1946, the Type XXI has remained in production and service up to the present day. Its current armament consists of two 20mm Flak cannons for anti-aircraft defence and eight torpedo tubes.

Originally from South America, Grey was found by the original crew of U-80 in the Amazon Rainforest, whilst searching for provisions for the return journey back to Lenburg, they stumbled upon him, when he was found he was the only remaining hatchling near the nest. With no mother in sight, the crew decided to bring the crocodile back with them.

Whilst on the return journey, Able Sailor 602_Official suggested to name the crocodile 'Greg' with all the crew in agreement. In celebration of their new found friend and a successful war patrol, the boat's cook decided to prepare a cake and a small celebration was permitted on deck.

Upon U-80's return, the boat was credited with sinking 36,988 GRT of shipping and its crews were awarded medals and promotions, whilst the Flotilla Commander inspected the crews, he was introduced to Greg, upon seeing him it was decided to award the crocodile the title of 'Flotilla Mascot' and relocate it near the Lenburg Docks in a specially designed pen and a plaque added to commemorate his discovery.
