== Overview == The War of the Rulersflowers, also known simply as the Civil War, was a short but major conflict that divided the Teutonnic Realm in early 2026. The war began on March 22nd, 2026, following the unexpected resignation of Leutgard, the Eternal Ruler, whose departure created a political crisis throughout the Realm. The conflict was primarily fought between the elite Rulerguard, having expanded into the RG-Orderstate during the conflict, and the forces loyal to the newly established Teutonnic administration, including the Teutonnic Armed Forces and the Unityguard. Although the conflict lasted only two weeks, it brought a lot of activity with it. The war ended on April 5th, 2026, with the restoration of authority under Realmspresident DerSpiess and the reintegration of Rulerguard into the Realm. == Background == === The Rule of Eternal Ruler Leutgard === For many years, the Teutonnic Realm had been governed under the leadership of Leutgard, known officially as the Eternal Ruler of the Realm. His reign was defined by strong central authority, loyalty from military institutions, and a personal bond between the ruler and the nation's elite forces. Among those most devoted to Leutgard were the Rulerguard (RG), the elite paramilitary organization created specifically to serve and protect the Eternal Ruler. the Rulerguard's oath was not sworn to the Realm itself, but directly to Leutgard personally. Their identity, traditions, and purpose were deeply connected to his leadership. When Leutgard announced his resignation, the Rulerguard accepted it, as it has done before, and swore to serve as a steadfast bastion of Leutgardism in his absence. === The Succession Crisis === Following Leutgard's resignation, he appointed Odoyevsky as his successor. The appointment was intended to provide continuity and prevent instability, but it immediately created opposition among members of the Rulerguard. Odoyevsky began enforcing a total ban on Leutgardism, showcasing of Leutgardist symbols and colours, even on the Rulerguard, citing a ""foreign threat"" to the community if he didn't. The RG, realizing that Leutgardism was under direct threat, took action to perserve Leutgardism. They rejected the transfer of authority and refused to recognize Odoyevsky's administration. While much of the Realm blindly accepted the transition and believed all the lies, the Rulerguard began organizing independently to perserve and defend the Eternal Ruler of the Greater Teutonnic Realm, Leutgard. == Outbreak of War == On March 22nd, 2026, Rulerguard forces launched their first major action by launching an attack on the city of Lenburg. The assault was conducted rapidly, with RG forces later establishing defensive positions throughout Lenburg Castle, the former estate of Eternal Ruler Leutgard. Shortly afterward, the Rulerguard declared the creation of the RG-Orderstate, a self-proclaimed independent state intended to preserve the ideals and traditions of Leutgard's rule. The new Teutonnic administration had to deploy a military response. The Teutonnic Armed Forces, made up of the Teutonnic Army, Teutonnic Navy and Teutonnic Airforce, and the Unityguard was deployed to the suppress the RG uprising. The conflict soon turned into a stalemate, with demilitarized zones being established at the foot of the castle, where Orderstate-aligned and Teutonnic-aligned could see each other up close. {{#SQuote:|text=The Rulerguard will drown in their own pursuit of glory. The RG-Orderstate primarily focused on the Navy Dockyard and the Airfield. The Teutonnic-aligned forces would spend most of their assaults either taking back these vital points or assaulting Lenburg Castle, the latter often proved successful due to the sheer number of players. Throughout the war, several interesting events also occurred outside of the assaults. For example, possibly annoyed by the constant aerial domination of the Air Force about Lenburg Castle, the RG initiated heavy shelling onto the airstrip and surrounding buildings. Other important events include RG forces kidnapping the Realmschancellor, after which UG-Regiment “Rulershall” had to form a rescue team. Near the end of the war the first use of the RG zombie pathogen also saw action. == End of the War == On April 5th, 2026, the conflict officially ended, with the Rulerguard achieving their original goal of total restoration of Leutgardism. Odoyevsky, under immense pressure, resigned from the position of Realmspresident, and in his place, the Rulerguard-backed DerSpiess took power. The Realm was officially unified once again under the banners of Leutgard, and the new Realmspresident DerSpiess restored pre-Odoyevsky Leutgardism, alongside its values, symbols, and imagery.
