=== Consolidation of power === Wilhelm Rosenberg proposed a restructuring of Octavium's leadership, which Aleczaender accepted. The proposal made Rosenberg and Hauwahrt the supreme authorities over national affairs, allowing Aleczaender to focus on development projects. The decision provoked significant opposition from the established leadership. The following period saw a systematic purge of Aleczaender's original supporters, known as the "old guard." Prominent figures such as [[Patrick]] and [[Oswald]] were exiled within two months on charges of treason and disobedience, which later accounts suggest were often manufactured to sideline opposition. The takeover was finalized on 19 April 2024 with ''The Octavian Constitution of 1953'', which legally entrenched Hauwahrt and Wilhelm's authority and made their removal exceptionally difficult. By then, less than 25% of the Imperial Command was made up of the old guard. Patrick J. Smith, Aleczaender's chief loyalist, described Hauwahrt as one of "Aleczaender's most brutal and most ruthless henchmen." Hauwahrt became the gatekeeper to Aleczaender, controlling access to the Caudillo and filtering the information that reached him. He personally vetted and approved appointments to the Supreme Command, often without Aleczaender's direct input. During one group-wide officer meeting, he reportedly told a political rival, in front of Aleczaender, that he would have them shot if they spoke to Aleczaender without his permission.
