The modern form of the Eternal Ruler’s personal guard traces its origins to the [[Greater Alemannic Realm]], where the early '''Rulerguard Protection Commando [RG-PC]''' served as a specialized element within the broader Rulerguard, tasked with protecting the Office of the Ruler alongside conventional forces.

Following the formation of Teutonnia in 2022, the first dedicated incarnation of the unit was established as the '''RG-Lifeguard-Regiment "Leutgard"''', operating from late 2022 to early 2023. This early Lifeguard differed significantly from later iterations. Personnel wore the standard General Rulerguard uniform and were equipped with the G-46 assault rifle. Notably, it became the first unit in the Realm to be issued the standard Sabre, setting a ceremonial and functional precedent for future formations. Although visually and structurally basic compared to later developments, the Lifeguard laid the organizational foundation for all subsequent protection units. Despite its name, the Lifeguard functioned as a division-sized element under the General Rulerguard, rather than a true regiment. Throughout its existence, the unit was commanded by only three leaders: BlitzfaII, train710, and Not_Tfue56.

In early 2023, the second major iteration was formed as the '''RG-Liferegiment "Leutgard,"''' which remained active until early 2024. This version marked a period of refinement and specialization. The regiment introduced new visual and organizational features, most notably the adoption of white webbing, which would become a defining characteristic of later protection units.
